Petition of Jacob Fish & others to be incorporated as the Madunkeunk Mill Company
was read & referred to the Committee on Manufactures in concurrence with the Senate
Report of the Committee on the Bill - to incorporate the town of Bridgeport" and the petitions & remonstrances on the subject, that legislation is inexpedient was read & accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
On motion of Mr Emery of Montville
Ordered That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire into the expediency of establishing a Law so to regulate the elections of Representatives that all contested elections of Representatives shall in future be decided in the towns and districts where such Representatives shall be chosen, and that the person producing credentials signed by the Selectmen of towns and assessors of Plantations as the case may be, and attested by their respective town or plantation Clerks shall be conclusive evidence that such Representative is legally chosen, &c person shall be allowed to hold a seat in this House as a Representative unless he produce such credentials. Resolve for the benefit of the town of Kilmamock was called up - the vote passing the same to be engrossed reconsidered, and the Resolve referred to the delegation on the part of the House from the County of Penobscot
