The House resumed the consideration of the Report in relation to the right of John M. Noyes &c to a seat in this House, the question being Shall the order accompany said Reports giving said Noyes a seat in this House, pass - and the question was taken by yeas & nays & decided in the affirmative as follows yeas 106 Nays 47 [see appendix page 42.]
and John M. Noyes took his seat a member of the House accordingly
An order came from the Senate for concurrence instructing the Committee on Manufactures to enquire into the expediency of an act in addition to an act in relation to Manufacturing Companies, making the private to property of Stockholders in such companies liable in all cases of deficiency of the capital stock to pay the debts, to an amount equal to their stock - and the House concurred.
Resolve for the benefit of the town of Kilmarnock was read a second time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
Resolve to pay the expenses of certain Indians of the Penobscot Tribe, laid on the table by Mr Allen of Bangor, was read once and Monday next at 10' o'clock assigned for a second reading
Bill - An Act to incorporate the Castine Steam Mill Company, was read 1st & 2d time & Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.
Bill - An Act to incorporate the Proprietors of the Goose River Mill Company, was read 1st & 2d time & Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading
